"Eu acho que uma boa pintura ou uma boa obra de arte faz muitas coisas que quer, quero dizer, talvez 15 ou 20 ou 100. Uma das coisas que uma pintura faz é fazer a sala parecer melhor. Melhora a parede que está ligada. O que é muito mais difícil do que parece. E isso é uma coisa boa. E se alguém se envolve com uma pintura nesse nível, tudo bem, isso é ótimo. Depois de algum tempo, a familiaridade, as outras coisas que uma pintura faz, as outras camadas, eles apenas começam a se sentir sentidas."

I think a good painting or a good work of art does many things it wants, I mean, maybe 15 or 20 or 100. One of the things a painting does is to make the room look better. It improves the wall that it's on. Which is much harder than it looks. And that's a good thing. And if one engages with a painting on that level, that's fine, that's great. After some time, familiarity, the other things that a painting does, the other layers, they just start to make themselves felt.
