"Behold nossa refutação do erro. Não se baseia em documentos de fé, mas sobre as razões e declarações dos próprios filósofos. Se alguém houver quem se orgulhava de se orgulhar de sua suposta sabedoria, deseja desafiar o que escrevemos, deixe-o fazer isso em alguns cantos nem antes que as crianças que sejam impotentes para decidir sobre questões tão difíceis. Deixe-o responder abertamente se ele ousar. Ele me encontrará lá confrontá-lo, e não apenas meu eu negligenciável, mas muitos do outro cujo estudo é a verdade."

Behold our refutation of the error. It is not based on documents of faith, but on the reasons and statements of the philosophers themselves. If then anyone there be who, boastfully taking pride in his supposed wisdom, wishes to challenge what we have written, let him not do it in some corner nor before children who are powerless to decide on such difficult matters. Let him reply openly if he dare. He shall find me there confronting him, and not only my negligible self, but many another whose study is truth.
