"Se alguém acredita que os filósofos, então o que chamamos A religião é apenas uma filosofia deliberadamente popularizada ou instintiva sem arte. Os poetas parecem considerar a religião, pouco como uma variação de poesia que julgando mal seu belo jogo adequado se leva muito a sério e unilateral. A filosofia, no entanto, admite e reconhece que pode começar e se completar apenas com a religião. A poesia procura apenas lutar pelo infinito e despreza a utilidade e a cultura mundanas, que são as verdadeiras antitheses da religião. A paz eterna entre artistas não está muito longe."

If one believes philosophers, then what we call religion is only a deliberately popularized or an instinctively artless philosophy. Poets seem to consider religion rather as a variation of poetry which by misjudging its proper beautiful game takes itself too seriously and one-sidedly. Philosophy, however, admits and recognizes that it can begin and complete itself only with religion. Poetry seeks only to strive for the infinite and despises worldly utility and culture, which are the true antitheses of religion. Eternal peace among artists is thus not far away.
