[...] Os pais santos explicaram este ponto através do exemplo claro acima do ferro vermelho, é a analogia equacionada para a natureza divina que se uniu à natureza humana. Eles explicaram que quando o ferreiro atinge o ferro vermelho-quente, o martelo está realmente impressionando tanto o ferro quanto o fogo unido com ele. O ferro sozinho dobra (sofre) enquanto o fogo é intocado, embora se incline com o ferro."

They explained that when the blacksmith strikes the red-hot iron, the hammer is actually striking both the iron and the fire united with it. The iron alone bends (suffers) whilst the fire is untouched though it bends with the iron.
